Ecstatic Painting

Smith's Ranch Drive-In
oil on Indian linen, 48 x 72 inches

Electric Lady
oil on Indian linen, 48 x 72 inches

Wonder Valley
oil on Indian linen, 48 x 72 inches

Cherry Blossoms
oil on Indian linen, 48 x 72 inches

My thesis show is on view at 80WSE Gallery in New York, and the weeping cherry trees outside the gallery window –whose blossoms I planned my Cherry Blossoms painting around– finally bloomed today so now I can tell you to go see the show. You'll get more bang for your buck that way. Two dozen or so paintings, some big enough to fill your field of vision, some small enough to use as a dessert tray, all oil on linen.

Show extended through April 17th.

80 Washington Square East
New York, New York
Open Tuesday - Saturday, 10-6

P.S. I AM SO EXCITED. THIS IS MY LIFE'S WORK. HERE'S A PRESENT FOR YOU/ PRIMER FOR THE SHOW

  1. Lily. Whoa. I want them all. Why did I go into nonprofits? Why am I not some well-paid career lady who could swoop in and fill my walls with all your amazing AMAZINGNESS.

Especially Wonder Valley. And Smith's Ranch Drive-In.

Wish I could do a dance like those birds to express my excitement for you.

  6. First of all, these are amazing! I love each and every one of them, especially the 3rd one from the top. How do I get in touch with you about purchasing one? (If, in fact, you are selling them eventually...)

  12. So beautiful!! I've been blown away by your beautiful textile works but these are on a completely different level. The colours of Wonder Valley make my heart sing. I wish I could see them in person and have them on my walls but there is the Atlantic Ocean stopping that happening. Have an amazing opening xx

  13. Lily! These most recent large scale pieces of yours are spectacular!!! I love seeing the progress & culmination of your thesis/life's work thus far. Peeks at Electric Lady and Wonder Valley via instagram made me WILD WITH GLEE. I am now particularly fond of Cherry Blossoms, and am currently indulging myself in daydreams... I imagine clearing out my house and get rid of all my furniture - just to be able to *live* with that painting! Congratulations! xo

  17. Longtime follower, commenting for the first time to say that I stopped by last night right before the show came down. Your pieces are stunning in person—the photos really don't do justice to the texture and layering of color.

I started following your blog before a trip to India in February. When we got back, New York seemed to be all drab and gray after the vibrant colors of India. I'm so thrilled that spring is bringing color to the city as everything blooms and the exuberance of your palette gave me the same feeling of color bursting out of grayness.
